its no secret that  i love the head and the heart. 

here is another one of my favorites from them.

this weekend we are spending lots of time getting geared up for arts camp this week.

i am a counselor + nathan will be attending. should be lots of fun!

getting back into work mode is tough after a nice long summer, but i am missing having lots of kids around all the time.

if you live in dallas, then i am sure you have heard of the radio station KXT.  

if you live in dallas + haven't heard this station, turn your dial push your button, tune into 91.7, + turn it up!

KXT is a public broadcasting station.  It has been broadcasting since november 2009 + has a triple-a (adult album alternative) music format.
 they play a lot of local + fresh new artists. a mix of acoustic, indie rock, folk rock, and alternative.

every year they put on a big concert called Summer Cut featuring artists that they play on the station.
this year we had the wonderful pleasure of going + it was maybe one of the best nights ive had in a really long time! we had a blast!

there is something about an outdoor all day concert that makes you feel young again. maybe it just makes me feel young again because i hadn't been to an all day festival since i was 21 + because i was childless for a whole day + night.

we danced in the rain, while drinking good beer, laughing with friends, + listening to amazing music.

a special thank you to my sister for getting us seats for my birthday! i love you al. 

KXT has another concert series called Barefoot at the Belmont. I haven't been but hope to catch one this summer.  if you are going to any concerts this summer. tell me! i would love to hear about it!

oh what a l-a-z-y saturday we are having around here. 

i have spent all day watching movies with nate + just took a nice 2 hr nap with him. 

now to go outside and spend the rest of the day in this gorgeous weather we're having here in texas.

we are all home today, brian is off + building train tracks with nate, i am sick [due to the flu vaccine] but i hope to get over it bc we have tickets to a sidekicks game tonight [ yes you heard that right, sidekicks + i am excited!]

today feels like a very off day. 

nathan so wonderfully woke me up last night by throwing up on my chest, it was quite the wake up call. 

his fever had spiked up to 103.4 + the on call nurse thinks thats what caused the sudden sickness. 

so needless to say we were up all night moaning + groaning with a 4am bath thrown in the mix. 

today is a lazy day with my baby + the mister, we did not make it to austin this weekend, 

i couldn't risk getting all the girls sick.

we are happy to be home together.

while wishing i was at lollapalooza with friends right now listening to this live. this will have to do. alabama shakes on repeat.

thank goodness i am not at lolla right now, it just got evacuated because of the huge storms coming through chicago, i would definitely be a not so happy festival goer. i wonder how they will make it up to everyone who paid or if they even will. what a bummer.

oh wednesday

i am having serious lack of creativity this week. maybe its because of all the easter parties at school and then nathans easter party tomorrow. tomorrow i promise a great post, not sure what yet, but it will be a good one. maybe ill take you on a tour of my dream house, or show you how to make something, or just maybe it will be an artist i love lately. for now i leave you with a new musical artist i just discovered. Russian Red. I am a fan of her voice, this song is a great one. enjoy.

we have a babysitter {my mom} on friday so we can go to my brother's birthday party {not really my brother, i only have a sister, but we have been best friends since we were 4 and he invited himself to my birthday party} should be a lot of fun to see everyone again.

i cannot wait for adele's performance...the grammys are the only award show i can really get into.  brian and i will be making some friendly bets so i will have to let you know how that goes.
