a letter to brian

dear brian/ daddy,

i wish that nathan could write you this letter.

he would say...daddy build me a train track please (without the please most likely). he would say you are my super hero and i am super nate. let's go save mommy! i love you daddy. thank you for everything you do for mommy + me. thank you for working hard, when we know you would rather be home building forts with me.  thank you for setting up all my toys, reading me books, + tucking me in like a burrito every night. you are the best daddy in the world. i love you + love every moment together. 

i love watching you raise our son, i love raising our son together. 

when i first met you, i fell in love with your infectious smile.

you make me the happiest.

you're the only person i can be 100% dorky me around.

you make me laugh until i cry.

you make everything in life so much better. 

you make the stressful days go away.

you still make my heart pound when you grab my hand. 

i love that we found each other.

i love that you picked me + continue to pick me everyday.

i still fall in love with that smile.

i love you baby.

you are a hero to the two of us. we love you.

a letter to my dad

dear dad,

     

thank you so much for everything you have done for my family and our family. you lived in a foreign country alone + traveled almost every day for years to make sure we had everything we wanted + needed. even with all your sacrifices you've always been there to support us + for that we love you. 

i love that through everything, i can come to you with problems + complaints. you are always listening + understanding. not only that, but you always help give a resolution or thoughtful reasoning. 

you are a great man. i aspire to be a portion of who you are. i love that no matter what venture i head down, be it art, teaching or this blog, you are always supportive. (you might have been my only reader for a long time.) 

      you are the best father + an unbelievable "pops" to my son. for that i am forever grateful.

father's day gift guide:

i am pretty sure has been officially stated by ALL women, that men are the hardest people to shop for. 

it's very rare for brian to pick up a catalog, circle the things he wants, + strategically place it somewhere he knows i will see it.  when i say very rare i mean he never does this, that would be too easy.  he also never takes me to the mall just to show me some things he likes. i am glad he doesn't do these things, except when its time to get him gi

so now you are supposed to think back to that one time he mentioned maybe wanting that shirt or that he really liked the beer at that one place, or what book he was glancing at, while you were shopping around target...impossible! 

i have compiled a little list of things i know brian would love  maybe like. 

in general most guys love drinking, golf, grilling, sports, + drinking. 

is that stereotypical of me?

 thats like saying all women like shopping, gossip, drinking, + shopping. 

maybe im not that far off.
