no not brian + i...dont you worry. we are happy as ever!
i did however break up with Facebook today. i am so happy i have done so. i might loose some readers here, but i write this for my family + myself anyway.
deactivating my Facebook account will hopefully be one of the best decisions i've ever made.
i just got so sick of getting "jealous" of people that i hardly know anymore. seeing promotions, weddings, amazing trips, engagements. i am happy with my life + know that these things will happen for me too one day. but i was allowing myself to "stalk" these people who have either graced my life once or twice or people who i normally wouldn't be in contact with at this point in my life.
it is also a huge time suck. i would spend hours on the computer checking Facebook every other blog i read.
now i get to focus more on my family, my work, + this wonderful blog.
i've promised brian + myself to give it a month, i hope it will be forever.

i love this idea!!
ReplyDeletethanks for the support allie!
ReplyDeleteAmanda you have no idea how many times I have wanted to do this. If I didn't have to get on it every day for work it would be SO much easier. Hopefully that will be changing and I can make the break as well...I feel the EXACT same way that you do about making the unnecessary comparisons and somehow walking away feeling inadequate when my life is SO incredible as it is. I will continue to keep up with you on your blog and take so much inspiration from you!
ReplyDeletePS - I'm headed to Dallas in a few weeks and will actually be there working until January, so we MUST get together :) xoxo
im so glad you completely get where i am coming from about feeling inadequate. thanks for keeping up with the blog, i continue to read yours as well. annie's birthday looked adorable. did you make the backdrop for the table? adorable!
Deletewhat are you doing for work now? still things with impeccable pig?
definitely need to get together, now that annie is one its a fun play-date for the littles.
Thank you so much! Yes, I did make the backdrop. Quite the project! I'm hoping to start doing more DIY stuff on my blog as well :)
DeleteStill at the Impeccable Pig, yes! Continuing to try and grow the online business.
I'll let you know once I'm there and settled and we can set Nathan and Annie up on their first little date!
ah you scared me! ha - but yes, fb break ups are so good! i did it over the spring for a month and it was so so nice... :0)
ReplyDeletei didn't mean to scare you! I'm hoping to last a month + i feel like if i go that long then i can definitely make it without Facebook at all
Deleteyou are brave! every once in a while I delete it off of my phone and feel really great... but then i always re download it.
ReplyDeletei am starting to feel i left too abruptly, i didnt realize how much i rely on it for friends birthdays {i know I'm a horrible friend for not knowing them without Facebook} and email addresses. i might have to sneak on one day just to write all that down.
